Justice @ Stubb’s 3/3/2008

This post is obviously a little late, but due to unfortunate legal matters we were unable to gain access to our blog for the past couple of days. Thankfully that’s over with. Back to the music.
The Myspace Music Tour and all its glory rolled into Austin on Monday night with Parisians Justice and DJ Mehdi at the helm. DJ Mehdi got the crowd warmed up (litterally, it was freezing) by spinning some dancerific tunes before the main attraction, Justice, took the stage to perform in front of a sold out Stubb’s. The freezing temperatures were quickly forgotten when Xavier de Rosnay & Gaspard Auge took their spots behind their altar of sound, started the beginning of “Genesis,” and lit the iconic cross. The place became absolutely electric. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed a more enthusiastic crowd.
I enjoyed the fact that Justice didn’t just sit up there looking bored and play † from start to finish. They threw us some curveballs by remixing some of their more popular tunes, while appearing to have a little bit of fun in the process. I swear, sometimes it looks like these guys are bored out of their minds. All in all it was a great show that I was glad to be a part of.
