Band to Watch – Feral Children

taken at King’s Hardware by Anna Knowlden
When I first heard these guys I instantly thought it kind of sounded like Isacc Brock of Modest Mouse playing with Animal Collective. As it turns out I’m not the only one who picked up on that sound. In fact the Seattle band, Feral Children, have drawn a lot of musical and lyrical comparison to fellow North westerners Modest Mouse. And to make things better their debut album, Second to the Last Frontier, was even produced by Scott Colburn, the mastermind who produced Animal Collective’s Feels and Strawberry Jam, as well as Arcade Fire’s Neon Bible.
I had a party the other night and created a playlist with these guys on it. When “Jaundice Giraffe” came on three or four people came up to me and asked who they were listening too. I think these guys are about to make a pretty big splash.
Do yourself a favor and check these guys out. You won’t be disappointed.
