I think it’s safe to say this little list has caused me a lot of stress. I’ve looked at it a hundred times and it just never seems perfect. I’m pretty sure this is the best I can get it without making it a top 50 or top 100 list, but I know that as soon as I hit “publish” I will immediately want to make a change or two or twenty.

I should also mention that the rules of this list are similar to the top songs list. Bon Iver’s For Emma, Forever Ago and MGMT’s Oracular Spectacular are both considered 2007 releases. This list will also exclude anything that doesn’t seem like a proper studio release to me. That’s why you won’t see any Ep’s, live albums or Girl Talk (nothing against Girl Talk. He will get some list love soon enough) for that matter. A list that includes these types of releases will more than likely come tomorrow.
