Jake’s Top Songs of 2008
This was a tough list to compile because I seemed to enjoy many different tracks in many different ways on many different days. So rather that saying these are hands down the “Best” songs of 2008, I am going to say they were the songs that I enjoyed the most or found myself hitting repeat on most often.
I should also note that I am considering Bon Iver’s For Emma, Forever Ago and MGMT’s Oracular Spectacular to be 2007 releases. So you can rest easy knowing their absence wasn’t purely an oversight. In fact I can emphatically say that if I were considering those albums to be 2008 releases Bon Iver’s “Skinny Love” would easily be my song of the year.
