New Blitzen Trapper Viedo – “Furr”
Blitzen Trapper’s Furr was one of the best albums of 2008, and one of the most underrated albums of 2008 at the same time. We weren’t afraid to give it some love here at SDM, but unfortunately it didn’t get anywhere near the large scale respect it deserved. I’m optimistic in hoping a lot of people will be revisiting this album in the near future and will finally realize how great it is.
The song “Furr” is, in my opinion, the best track on the album and one of the better songs I’ve heard in recent years. In fact it topped our top songs of 2008 list rather easily. Blitzen Trapper have now released a flip book style video for “Furr” that compliments the song nicely. The only down side of the video is that it doesn’t do a lot to persuade some of my friends the song isn’t about Werewolves.

Okay, I don’t really think this is a song about lycanthropes…more like about the seeking and wildness of our youthful years and then that transition back to the civility of adulthood. I kind of think it is something like that…although the wolf mask thing was pretty cool.
