Do You Realize It’s Official??

After a few very dramatic and suspenseful hours the Flaming Lip’s “Do You Realize??” is finally the state of Oklahoma’s official rock song. Yesterday Governor Brad Henry signed an executive order proclaiming it so, as well as declaring April 28th Flaming Lip’s Day.  I attended the event and snapped some photos that turned out horrible, so you will just have to make due with the video.

Also according to a website we read on occasion the Lips are finalizing their latest album, which will supposedly be a double disc entitled Embryonic. I’ve heard that we can expect this to drop sometime around July.

    That was great. Governor Henry. He’s a geeky dude, but has great taste in music. I loved watching the interaction.
