2009 is ever so slowly coming to a close, but the output of quality albums doesn’t seem to be slowing down.  I think this is some kind of weird testament to what a great year for music 2009.   I know many of us have started working on our end of the year lists, but I wouldn’t set anything in stone just yet with the way this year is going.

As for the actual new releases,  the Flaming Lips new album Embryonic is the highlight for me this week.  The album is rich, dense and full of fucking noise.  I love it. I also find it fitting that Bob Dylan is releasing a Christmas album on the same day the Lips are releasing their weird freak out noise album.  Something about the combination just feels right.  Enjoy the albums below and let us know if we’ve left anything of note off.
