It’s Tuesday again and that means another day of new releases.  There is some really great stuff out this week.  First I have to mention the new Shearwater album, The Golden Archipelago. This album might not be as immediate as Rook, but it’s just as gorgeous.

A week or so ago we mentioned how excited we are for the new Electric President album, The Violent Blue.  It’s finally out and everyone should run down to their record stores and pick up a copy.  These guys are easily one of the most underrated bands doing the whole indie thing.  And of course the new triple disc Joanna Newsom album, Have One On Me is out today.  It seems like every blog/critic out there has had a raging,  well they’ve all been very excited about this album.  Maybe I don’t get it.  Granted it’s creative and unique, but everyone makes it seem so amazing. Perhaps I’m not smart enough to know why it’s good.  Maybe I should read more books.  Anyways I will say it is interesting and deserves a listen.  I may be taken off the internet for a less than steller excitement level so if that happens will someone please tell the world my story?

Of the other albums I’ve heard I can  recommend Xiu Xiu’s Dear God, I Hate Myself, Eluvium’s Similies and Man/Miracle’s The Shape of Things.

Fingers crossed that the Brian Jonestown Massacre album is good.
