The 2nd Annual Norman Music Festival
The 2nd Annual Norman Music Festival is fast approaching (April 25th) and the the price is still right (Free). In my opinion last year’s festival was a smashing success and the way things are shaping up, this year is all but guaranteed to fall in line. The lineup isn’t complete just yet, but we will continue to update this post as new performers are announced.
I wasn’t going to say a lot about the performers but I think I will at least say a little bit about a few of the non-local main stagers. Of Montreal puts on an amazing show that will leave you asking yourself what the hell you just saw. I especially hope they bring the horse. I saw the Black Angels during the dead of summer at the Conservatory. It was miserably hot and everyone was sweating profusely, but the Angels didn’t let this affect their performance. They pounded out song after droney psychedelic song and left a drenched crowd wanting much much more. I left the venue thinking to myself that this is what a concert should feel like. I’ve seen Man Man three times and each time they get a little bit better. If you’ve never seen them (or only seen them at the horrendous Lloyd Noble Center) you are in for quite a treat. They take the stage and just beat the shit out of their instruments, or anything else they find laying around. The performance is intense but still lighthearted enough to allow for a good time.
I think the festival organizers have done a tremendous job lining up performers this year (and last) and I would like to thank them for providing us the opportunity to attend such a great festival right here in our own backyard. So uhhh, THANKS!!

Added to the NMF2 stage lineup will be a mix of rock styles in the music institution that is the Opolis. Check back soon for lineup announcements.
Little Rockers Stage
NMF is a true community event, and this year brings something for our little rockers. Located on a side street, the Little Rocker Stage will host music and entertainment targeted towards Norman’s youngest citizens. Set to run from Noon to 5pm, is sure to be a good time!
Dreamer Concepts
Dreamer Concepts will host many bands throughout the day of the festival.

Local Author Charles Martin will host a reading (and more) in Winan’s Fire Chocolates & Coffees.
