New Releases: 2/9/2010

It looks like another great week for new releases. The highlight for me this week was easily Yeasayer’s Odd Blood. I think this is a great album and a worthy followup to their debut. The album might not be as instant, but with continued listens it will prove to be great.  This I can guarantee.

I can also recommend Massive Attack’s Heligoland (although P4k doesn’t). I mean it’s freaking Massive Attack, they’re not going to put out a shit album.

To be honest I haven’t got around to listening to the new Hot Chip, but I can assure you that’s on the agenda for today.  I haven’t been all that excited for it, and I’m not quite sure why.  Hopefully I’ve really been missing out on something.

This week’s new release roster also introduced me to Gil Scott Heron who has been a legend since the 60′s. Needless to say I’ve been downloading his back catalog and finding some amazing stuff.  His new album, his first in 13 years, is quite stunning and well worth a listen.

Which 2/9/2010 release were you most anticipating?
